Hey everyone,
This week we launched our kickstarter which is for a video game we've been working on for a few years now called Feral Forest. It's a 2D arcade survival shooter game where you shoot through hoards of birds to see how long you can survive. Feral Forest means a lot to us in the fact that it celebrates the pets that we all own, but firstly celebrates dogs. During development, our coder lost his dog Mason, who had been his best friend for 12 years and is now immortalized in the game as one of the playable characters. It's very important to us that we get our Kickstarter funded and that we touch the lives of more people and appreciate the love that pet owners have for their best friends/family members.
The game itself is inspired by Space Invaders, Call of Duty, Duck Hunt, Terraria, Stardew Valley, and Donkey Kong Country. It is a simple concept, but it oozes different aspects of retro and modern games which we're really excited for everyone to experience.
Right now, we have a demo that is done and we'll be releasing that to Newgrounds and probably itch.io for people to play so they can test the game and experience a piece of what's to come. I don't know who will all end up reading this, but I know we all have something that we work hard towards, dream of, and want to see succeed. I know in the past Newgrounds has been awesome about supporting Buddypal Brigade and other animators, artists, gamers, and musicians. I feel honored always to be a part of this community and I hope that you'll see and appreciate the passion, story, and hard work that went into making this game and everything about it.
